The logo of the Liga Nacional Puertorriqueña: a big sky-blue circle, bordered in red and white, surrounding a smaller circle of darker blue with white borders, superimposed on which is a red-and-white nautical star that hosts the acronym "LNP" in black block letters.

Gaceta de la Liga Nacional Puertorriqueña

150 years of the best baseball in the universe—all in one place.

The logo of the Ristretti de Maricao: a brown circle featuring warm brown latte art (a heart-shaped flower with a leafy stem), bordered in gold-brown-gold, with a gold "M" in the same font as the Cafeteros on top of it.

Ristretti de Maricao

A good strong cup of dark coffee, often brewed in a greca, might be the national beverage of Puerto Rico, but as the island became part of the international coffee community, fancier methods arrived from all over the world—even in towns like Maricao, who, for perhaps obvious reasons, have some of the most energized fans in all of baseball.

colors & uniforms

The home uniforms for the Ristretti de Maricao: white jerseys with white buttons, yellow undershirt, and brown sleeves that end in orange and then tan stripes symbolizing layers of coffee; each sleeve also has the Ristretti's special logo, a demitasse crowned with the golden Maricao "M" in a steamlike curve. The brown "Maricao" wordmark sits on the chest on top of a golden swash; on the back, brown numbers are bordered in gold with black shadows to the bottom right. White pants with brown gold-buckled belt and brown-orange-yellow piping down the sides, leading to brown socks that each have a thick gold stripe, bordered by two orange medium stripes, bordered by two narrow gold stripes. Brown caps with gold bills and the golden Maricao "M" on top of the lighter coffee-colored leaf art.

Home

The away uniforms of the Ristretti de Maricao are kind of like if the seventies were more hyper. Brown jerseys with gold undershirts, golden buttons, and gold and tan stripes on the sleeve ends, both of which still feature the demitasse-steam logo, as well as gold-tan-gold triangular piping on the sides. On the front, the Maricao wordmark in gold is bordered in orange and sits on a tan swash; on the back, the numbers are in gold, bordered in tan, with orange shadows to the bottom right. Brown pants with gold tan-buckled belt and orange-tan-white piping down the legs; yellow socks with thick brown stripes bordered in medium tan stripes bordered with narrow brown stripes. Brown caps with gold bills, same golden "M" on the coffee-colored leaf art.
