While Aguada may not be the site of a cathedral, as the team’s name would suggest, the fact that it was the site of the first monastery on the island has given it a reputation as the religious capital of Puerto Rico, to the point where it is nicknamed la ciudad del Vaticano.

Mascot: Cormitraza

(coraza “shell, cuirass” + mitra “miter, bishop’s hat”)

Cormitraza is a blue nerite snail with orange eyes and small antennae. The real attraction is its shell, which is massive and orange, with black drop-like markings across the sides in front of a small white-laced whirl, and a series of white markings with black borders that look like an archbishop’s miter.
