Canarios de Hatillo

Hatillo was founded by Don Agustín Ruiz Miranda, an immigrant from the Canary Islands, with the explicit purpose of creating a municipality devoted to Puerto Rico’s nascent dairy industry. His success would bring the town prosperity in the first years of the Republic.
