The logo of the Liga Nacional Puertorriqueña: a big sky-blue circle, bordered in red and white, surrounding a smaller circle of darker blue with white borders, superimposed on which is a red-and-white nautical star that hosts the acronym "LNP" in black block letters.

On the one hand, anyone with enough experience in Puerto Rico knows that whip spiders are harmless little nocturnal critters. On the other, there are certainly enough arachnophobes on the island that a team named after the things can still strike sizable fear into its opponents’ hearts.

Mascot: Escorpiaza

(escorpión “scorpion” + coraza “shell”)

Escorpiaza is the mascot of the Guabaleros de Comerío. It's the jester of whip spiders, its legs and probosces striped in orange and turquoise, which is also the color of the armor plates in its black-rimmed shell; it's got a "beard" of orange plates around its face, where it appears very, very annoyed with you. Which isn't really a problem, because that thing is harmless to humans.
