San Germán Swallows

Among the municipalities of Puerto Rico, only San Juan can boast a longer continuous history than San Germán, named at its founding after the then-queen consort, and after liberation, as the name of its baseball team implies, a beautiful place known for its avian fauna.

Mascot: Hirundacán

(hirundínidos “swallows” + huracán “hurricane”)

Hirundacán, the mascot of the Golondrinas de San Germán, is an extremely aerodynamic swallow with a black back and wings, a pink face, white belly, and a pink tail bordered with black feathers and a white stripe.
