There are exactly two things the town of Isabela is known for: queso de hoja—a very pleasant cheese typically sold wrapped in plantain leaves—and raising good fighting roosters. Only one of those two makes a good team name, but they chose the other.

Mascot: Crestundente

(crestú “crested” + contundente “blunt”)

Crestundente, the mascot of the Quesiteros de Isabela, is pissed. Royally pissed. It won't even look at you from its big red eye, or shake its big red crest and comb at you. It will simply glare at you sidelong, putting its golden face and talons in the opposite direction, puffing up its red body, and even showing you its black-and-white striped tail. It hates you, and you deserve that.
